The Practical Wonders of Dilution

Dilution may not be the solution to pollution, but according to my taste buds, it does wonders

for improving the taste of the following:

Solute

Diluting Agent (solvent)

coffee

milk

coffee is bitter; milk is sweet and creamy. 90% milk and 10% coffee is my ideal mix; its added advantage is that 10 cups of my mixture is equivalent to 1 pure cup, and my stuff won’t keep you awake at night.

wine

soda

This is the basic recipe for a cooler, but it does wonders for any cheap wine. Or if you find yourself drinking too much of a good wine, the diluting effect lowers your blood-alcohol level, and it will keep you behind the wheel.

cheese

pasta

Most people avalanche their pasta with parmesan. Ever since a microbiologist told me that the bacteria used to produce some cheeses is also responsible for the smell of sweaty feet, I use about one grain of parmesan for every 100 noodles of pasta. That way the meal is less fattening, and you smell sauce, not socks.
