LHA Junior Campus Student Council

Student Council is a committee made up of teachers and many grade 7 and 8 students from each homeroom. This committee gets together on a regular basis to discuss ways to make school life more enjoyable for the student body. Events such as Halloween activities (dances, costume contest, door decorating contest), lunchtime competition involving teachers and students (spirit week), dress down days, candy cane-o-gram and many other activities are organized by the Student Council throughout the school year. Student Council also puts an emphasis on raising money for social causes in our community. For every event and activity Student Council plans, an awareness and fundraising campaign for a chosen cause will be attached to it, with the proceeds being donated to a predetermined charity. In 2018, money was raised for these organizations: Benedict Labre House, Chez Doris, WE Water, and Spirit of Giving. Throughout the whole year, around 1300.00$ was been distributed to these various groups.
